— About Me —

Love Lustig

I was only 9 years old when I designed my first level in Warcraft 3’s world editor. I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew from that moment that this was something I wanted to do. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I didn’t say, “I wanna be a doctor or a firefighter”. I said, “I want to make games”.

This dream took me all the way to university, where I enrolled in a game design programme. But I couldn’t follow through, because in my mind I wasn’t good enough. When I look back at it now, I can see that I was. Instead, I started working in IT-support, where I discovered my joy for working with others.

During the years, my love for games has never faded. I played Project Zomboid in Cambodia, the first Witcher game in Australia (what a mistake), Oldschool RuneScape in France, and I even managed to buy and play Slay the Spire on three different platforms because it was just that good! When I finally worked up the confidence to apply and get a job as a programmer it started to dawn on me: if I could get this job, why the hell couldn’t I get a job in the games industry?

After three years working as a software developer, I applied and got into TGA. There I have gotten the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing people and learn more about Level Design. I love games with strong player agency, such as Morrowind or Bioshock, because the freedom it creates cannot be replicated in any other medium. When I think about a career in level design, those are the types of games that I would like to work with.

Some facts about me

  • My favourite spring activity is to ride on my skateboard and listen to ska-music on full blast (like a little hipster)

  • I spent two years teaching myself how to draw by sketching one new thing every day. Today I mostly spend that talent on making fun level top-downs

  • Some people say that adults shouldn’t have a favourite color, but my favourite is yellow. What is yours?
